So first off, let us read the problem and highlight all the key pieces of information that we need to use in order to solve this problem. A survey recorded the following percentages for the least favorite pizza toppings among college students. Pineapple, 50%. Mushrooms, 25%, green peppers, 17%, other 8%. Which of the following pie charts best represents this data? Awesome. So it appears for this particular problem, we're ultimately trying to determine which of our multiple choice answers has the correct pie chart that best represents the data that is given to us by the prom itself. So, with that in mind, let us look at our multiple choice answers to see what type of pie charts or what the pie charts look like that we're gonna be dealing with. So, for multiple choice letter A, we can see that half of our pie chart is pineapple. And it looks like a quarter is mushrooms, and then it looks like it what appears to be 3 is green peppers, and then other is a slim, which looks like maybe about 1/8 of a piece, like a tiny little skinny slice. Whereas for B, pineapple is about 25%. Mushrooms is a tiny little skinny slice. Green green bell peppers or green peppers is half of our pie chart. And then other is a quarter. See, we have half of our pie chart, which is pineapples. Which it's the the quickly before we go any further, it's important to note that for all of our pie charts, red represents pineapple, blue represents mushrooms, green represents green peppers, and purple represents others. Or other. So, going back to multiple choice answer letter C, half of the pie chart is pineapple, quarter is mushrooms, and it appears to be maybe about 3 is green bell peppers, and then the skinniest slice is other. And then finally for D, it looks like it's quarter is pineapple, half is mushrooms, and green bell peppers is about 25%, and the skinniest slice is other. Awesome. So, with that in mind, now that we know what our pie charts look like for for our multiple choice answers, we need to note the following for our data. We need to look at our data first. So our first step is to analyze our data. So we're told that pineapple is 50%, so this should be the largest section on our pie chart. And mushrooms, which is 25%, should be the second largest piece of our pie. And green bell peppers, which is 17%, is the 3rd largest slice on our pie. And other is 8%, which will be the smallest section of our pie chart. So we also need to note that 50, so we need to note that 50% is 50 divided by 100, because that's how you write 50% is a decimal. So 50 divided by 100 is equal to one half. And 25% is 25 divided by 100, which is equal to 1/4 a quarter. So it's important to note that one half, therefore, the pineapple should occupy half of our pie chart, whereas the mushrooms, which is a quarter, should occupy only a quarter of our pie chart. So with that in mind, we need to note that since 17%, so let's also make a note that 17% plus 8%. So 17% plus 8% is equal to 25%. That will mean that 17% plus 8% is equal to 25%. That will mean once and for all that green peppers and others will share the remaining 25% of the pie chart, with green peppers occupying a larger slice or a larger portion of this total 25%. We can also relate these percentages to angle of sectors in the pie chart. So for 50% would correspond to Let's make a little arrow to 0.5 multiplied by 360 degrees, which will give us 180 degrees, and for our mushrooms for 25%, this will be 0.25 multiplied by 360 degrees, which will give us 90 degrees. So considering these pieces of information, let's look at our pie charts that are given to us by the prom itself. And let's go in order from A. To D So looking at our pie chart for multiple choice answer letter A. We could see that the pineapple. The section for pineapple does correspond to 0.5 or 50% of the chart, so that is correct. However, the quarter of the pie chart where 90% of the sector is found corresponds to green bell peppers, not mushrooms. So therefore, multiple choice answer letter A is incorrect. Looking at multiple choice answer letter B now. We could see that green bell peppers occupies half or 50% of our pie chart, and not pineapple, so we know for sure, definitely that this is incorrect. And following that logic, looking at multiple choice answer letter D, we could see that half of our pie chart is labeled as mushrooms instead of pineapple, so it can't be multiple choice answer letter D. So finally, looking at multiple choice answer letters C, we could see that pineapple covers 5 or 50% of our pie chart. We can also see that a quarter of the pie chart where 90% of the sector is found corresponds to mushrooms, which is represented in blue. With green bell peppers occupying a larger portion of the 25% and the slimmest amount being other, which is the skinniest slice of our pie. So that means, without a doubt, our final answer has to be multiple choice answer, letter C, and that's it. We've officially solved for this answer or solved for this problem. Hooray, we did it.
