Around the world: Helping students navigate Indian university admissions with confidence
by
Students and parents need clear guidance when it comes to university admissions. We are pleased to share updates on our partnership with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) – an essential body that evaluates academic qualifications for university admissions in India.
Supporting student progression to Indian universities
We're delighted that AIU continues to recognise ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel International GCSE (IG) and International Advanced Level (IAL) qualifications. This recognition allows students to seamlessly transition into Indian universities, reinforcing the value of an international curriculum for those pursuing higher education locally.
University progression is a key priority for many students completing their ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel International GCSE and International A Levels, and AIU plays an essential role in supporting these pathways by providing official equivalence for these qualifications. This support reassures students and their families that ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel qualifications are accepted across a wide range of Indian higher education institutions.
Enhancing transparency with a new AIU webpage
We're also pleased to announce that AIU is developing a dedicated webpage featuring all recognised qualification awarding organisations, including ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel. This resource will provide schools, students and parents with clear and accessible information on how ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel qualifications align with Indian university admission criteria. For schools offering ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel qualifications, this webpage will be an invaluable tool during admission discussions. It will highlight the global credibility of our qualifications while offering transparent information on university progression.
Clarity on subject combinations and equivalence certificates
ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel and AIU have also addressed the recognition of subject combinations across different educational boards. AIU has agreed to evaluate NIOS and ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel subject combinations on a case-by-case basis. As long as a student completes a minimum of five subjects, they will be eligible for an Equivalence Certificate. This decision reflects AIU’s commitment to supporting students pursuing diverse learning pathways.
In addition, AIU will provide detailed guidelines on obtaining Equivalence Certificates. Once received, we will make these guidelines available on the ÃÛÌÒapp India webpage to ensure all stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date information. This initiative aims to simplify the process for schools and families, offering greater clarity on university admissions.
Strengthening pathways for ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel students
ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel remains committed to providing internationally recognised qualifications that prepare students for success both in India and globally. As we engage with key stakeholders like AIU, our focus remains on supporting learners, offering clear pathways, and building a brighter future for all.
Stay connected for more updates as we continue to foster meaningful collaborations and champion the success of ÃÛÌÒapp Edexcel learners across India and beyond.
