NUCO: First Aid for Youth Mental Health

This is a one-day online course leading to a qualification thatÌýwill beÌývalid for three years.ÌýSubject to successful assessment you'll receive a level 2 award in First Aid for Youth Mental Health.Ìý

The qualification has been designed with children and young people in mind covering areas such as depression, self-harm, eating disorders and bullying. You will gain theÌýknowledge and skills to identify a potential mental condition, start a conversation and provide support and guidance.

The qualification is suitable for anyone who actively connects with children and young people suchÌýas parents, carers, teachers, youth group leaders and young adults.Ìý

We'll start with a refresher of the basics, before our subject expert teams take you through a deep dive showing how to use that data to identify gaps and ensure you've got the tools to hand to support the subsequent intervention and revision cycle.Ìý

Considering how assessment, assessment data, and insights all relate to the curriculum goals, it will focus on how to gather useful information; what the pitfalls of assessment and gathering data are, and how you can make it come alive to positively inform your classroom practice.Ìý
