Calling for reform of GCSE Science

We've been carrying out extensive research and working with hundreds of teachers, learners, parents & experts across the country to develop a clear view of the challenges facing GCSE science education & what is needed to address these.

As a result of this, and alongside our Curriculum and Assessment review thinking, we’re calling for change.ÌýIt's evident GCSE Science must evolve to foster a sense of scientific identity, creativity and curiosity. By prioritising relevant, interesting and useful content, skills and experiences,Ìýit can become a powerful pathway to inspire learners and develop the skills needed for a STEM-focused future and life as scientifically literate citizens.
