Highlights of the week ending 20 August
Although the summer holidays are in full swing and things are quieter than usual, this week has still seen a number of significant announcements and publications.
The SQA has set out its plans for the assessment of National Qualifications next year, including exam dates and results day. Both Departments for Education in Westminster and Northern Ireland have set out revised COVID-19 outbreak guidance ahead of the return of students.
And post-16 funding came under the spotlight, following analysis by the IFS which highlighted the need for extra money to be made available to schools and colleges to tackle the challenge of rising student numbers.
