The DfE confirmed on January 4thÌýthat they expected scheduled vocational exams to go ahead andÌýitÌýhas updated that guidanceÌýtoday (January 5th)ÌýtoÌýgiveÌýschools and collegesÌýthe choiceÌýtoÌýoffer students vocational exams, shouldÌýschools and collegesÌýjudge it right to do so. We want toÌýensureÌýthatÌýyouÌýand all those working in schools and collegesÌýareÌýsupported by usÌýregardless of the choiceÌýthat is madeÌýby your school or collegeÌýonÌýwhether exams take place.Ìý Where a college orÌýschoolÌýdecides to offer exams,ÌýyouÌýwill be able to sitÌýyourÌýexternal assessments as plannedÌýand if yourÌýschoolÌýorÌýcollegeÌýdecidesÌýnot to offerÌývocationalÌýexams,Ìýwe have agreed the followingÌýwithÌýOfqualÌýand the DfEÌýtoÌýensure thatÌýno learner isÌýdisadvantaged.

• We willÌýaward a grade forÌýany learner who is unable to take their exams and has enough evidence to receive a certificate that they need for progression.Ìý
• Learners unable to take their assessment thisÌýJanuaryÌýmay be able to take theirÌýassessmentÌýat a later date.ÌýIfÌýthatÌýis not possible,Ìýwe will put in place arrangements to ensureÌýyouÌýare not disadvantaged.ÌýÌý
