Component descriptions
Student Book - Listening and Speaking	Focus on Listening 鈥� a listening exercise with two contrasting and thought-provoking authentic texts, intended to stimulate students intellectually. There is a comprehension exercise and an automatically graded MyEnglishLab vocabulary activity to reinforce meaning and pronunciation. Focus on Speaking 鈥� Productive vocabulary targeted in the unit is reviewed and expanded on in a creative way. Grammar structure is practiced to prepare students for the final speaking test. A MyEnglishLab activity is followed by a speaking task to exchange ideas and express opinions in sustained speaking.
Student Book 鈥� Reading and Writing	Focus on Reading 鈥� The unit leads with a Reading exercise with two thought-provoking authentic texts to stimulate students. A comprehension exercise and an automatically graded MyEnglishLab vocabulary activity reinforce meaning and pronunciation. Focus on Writing 鈥� Students review and expand on the unit vocabulary, and practise grammar structures to prepare them for the final speaking test. There is a MyEnglishLab practice activity followed by a final speaking task for students to exchange ideas and express opinions in conversation.
MyEnglishLab	Students use MyEnglishLab to access additional practice online, view videos, listen to audio, and receive instant feedback on their work Teachers assign MyEnglishLab activities to reinforce the skills students learned in class and monitor progress through an online gradebook. MyEnglishLab introduces an intuitive and engaging digital experience, with videos, audio and recordings of their own voices. The gradebook tracks students鈥� performance and identifies their strengths and weaknesses, allowing teachers to tailor classes to the demands of the class or individuals. MyEnglishLab encourages students to analyse what they are doing rather than just guessing.
